Billy Gardner

Billy Gardner age 86 of Clyde, NC passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 28, 1940 to the late Fillmore and Nan Gardner.

Billy was an avid Pisgah Football fan. He loved to fish, hunt and being outdoors in nature. Billy worked for Wilson Tree Company and a short time at Canton Police Department. He also worked for Champion Paper Company and later retired from Blue Ridge Paper. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Nannett Finger; three brothers, Phillip Gardner, Harold Gardner and George Gardner.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Dorothy Gardner; daughter, Tamyra (Bobby) Stamey; four grandchildren, Matthew Sizemore, Savannah Sizemore, Jake Finger, Hannah Finger; four great grandchildren; two step daughters; four step grandchildren; and two step great grandchildren; sisters, Georgia Tate and Virginia Sprouse; brothers, Cecil Gardner and Mike Gardner; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services for Billy will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 24, 2026 at Calvary Baptist Church in Canton with visitation prior to the service from 1:00 PM to - 2:00 PM at the church.

Burial will be held at Garrett Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
