Canton, NC - Bobby Dean "Bob" Gibson, 69 passed away February 16, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Waynesville on August 17, 1948 to the late Hezzie and Lucille Ray Gibson.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Dora Evelyn Irene Brown; son, Clay Gibson; one grandson and two great grandchildren; sisters, Josephine "Jo" Gibson, Phyllis Rhinehart, Thomasine Eckenrod.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Rhonda Gibson, Roger Gibson, Angela Gibson, Rebecca (Charles) Rabb, and Hobert (Gloria) Brown; siblings, Loretta Moore, Ray Gibson; thirteen grandchildren; twenty two great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild; and other extended family.

Funeral Services will be held at 3 PM Wednesday, February 21, 2018 in the Chapel of Garrett Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 PM at Garrett Funeral Home.

Burial will be held at Green Hill Cemetery where military honors will be performed by the US Army.
