Brenda Lanning James “Beloved & Cherished Mother, & Grandmother” Brenda Lanning James, 62, of Waynesville, passed away March 20, 2015 at The Homestead. She was born in Jackson County on November 1, 1952. She is preceded in death by parents, Samuel and Hannah Lanning and brother, Tom Lanning. Survivors include, two children, Tim (Sabrina) James and Tressa “Sissy” James, grandchildren, Savannah, Christian, Devon, Sapphire, Sybil and Tristen; great grandchildren, Alexsis and Niko; three brothers and two sisters, Thelma Hensley, Lester (Lillie) Lanning, George (Mary) Lanning; Barbara (Talmadge) Golden, Ned (Dorothy) Lanning, and sister in law, Jean Lanning.
