Dear Jake and Molly and family,  I am so deeply saddened to read of Buffy passing.  I have wonderful memories from my many years on  Main Street with her.  My fondest memory is her beautiful smile ever present, every day.  She never passed the shop without  popping in to say hi.  We had such a special bond of being mothers to children so close in age.  She loved you both so dearly.  She made a difference in so many peoples lives, and will be missed beyond measure.   May the Lord hold you close and comfort you in the days ahead. To all of Buffy's family, I know none of you know me, as I knew Buffy thru the NC Main Street program, however, please know my heart is with you. Molly and Jake. Your mother was such a good friend to me for so many years. She worked tirelessly for Waynesville for decades. In return, I supported her unconditionally when the tide began to turn against her with no cause. For five years I helped keep the wolf away from her door. When she became ill someone told her that I had gone to Smoky Mountain News with a story  about her removal from DWA. I would never ever have done that. I couldn’t give Greg the time of day for what he had done to her. She didn’t believe me and it broke my heart. I’m telling you this because I need you to know that I supported her to the end. It hasn’t been the same without her. It never will. I’m so sorry for the grief you are going through. Teresa Pennington

To Jake, Molly and grandchildren of Buffy I extend my deepest sympathy to you for the loss of your mother and grandmother. 
It was  my honor and joy to have worked and known Buffy in the late 90s and early 2000s at the “Town”. Her love for you, her beloved  children and dedication to her job was an inspiration. We shared many laughable moments and yes,  some not so great concerning life with our kids  and jobs. Although we had lost touch over the years I thought of her often with a smile and appreciation for having been able to call her friend. 
I pray that God gives you peace and comfort in the days ahead.

I am so sorry to hear of Buffy's passing.  I sure she in heaven and I will see her again.  Buffy was a great person who dedicated a lot of her life to the town of Waynesville.  I feel that Buffy help make Waynesville what it is today.  I use to tell her that I wish she had been working in Maggie Valley.  Buffy loved her family and we can see her again.  My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Buffy will be missed terribly.   She always walked down main street and had such a beautiful smile on here face for many years.  Her interaction with Downtown was memorable!! Prayers for the family.

So very sorry to hear about Buffy.  She was such a staple in the Haywood County Downtown Association.  She will truly be missed.  You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Buffy and I went from first through 12th grade together.  I spent many nights at her home and her at mine.  She had a gentle heart and infectious smile.  I envied her accordian lessons she seemed to enjoy so much.  I remember the day she walked into second grade on crutches because she had caught her foot in the spokes of a bicycle.
She was a constant friend throughout the years.  I saw her often when her children came through Hazelwood School and when she worked for Waynesville.  We reconnected when she was in rehab at Maggie Valley Nursing and Rehab.  Years had passed but felt like only yesterday as we talked.  May God bless her family with wonderful memories and the assurance she is celebrating in Heaven.
