Carl David Campbell, Sr.

Carl David Campbell Sr., 83, of Waynesville passed away surrounded by his family at HRMC on May 12th.

Carl was born on Dec 28th, 1942 in DeLand, FL, where he was raised along side his 5 siblings. Carl and his wife of 61 years, Susan, started dating in school, married in 1965 and eventually moved to Waynesville in 1984. Together they raised 3 boys and ran a small business.

Carl loved God, his family, sports and fishing. He was always a jokester who never passed up an opportunity to poke a little fun.

He is survived by his wife Susan, 3 sons and 5 grandchildren. David of Sylva with his wife Jackie and their daughter Maya - Ryan of Waynesville with his wife Beth and their three children Logan, Lucas, and Lili -and Gray of Canton with his daughter Rylee, and loved ones Hali Yarborough and her sons Levi and Knox. He is also survived by his sister, Elaine Bride and her husband David of Ormond Beach, FL, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Carl was a long time member of Woodland Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years.

A Celebration of Life service will take place at Woodland Baptist Church on May 23rd at 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donation may be made in his memory to Woodland Baptist Church.
