Carl Pilkington

Carl Pilkington, age 74, of Waynesville, NC passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2024. Carl was born on February 4, 1950, in Graham County, NC to the late Paul and Nell Brock Pilkington. Carl enjoyed fly fishing and had a unique love of working with wood. Most of all, Carl loved his wife, children and his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his grandmother, Lizzie Pilkington; and his brother, Steve Pilkington.

Carl is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Bessie Rathbone Pilkington; son, Chris Pilkington; daughters, Ginger Aumen (Alex) and Miranda Pilkington; grandchildren Taylor Sage (Josh), Zion Henderson, Valentino and Brynne Rizzi; brother, Fred Pilkington; sister, Joan Moore (Gary); his many friends and extended family.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, July 7, in the chapel of Garrett Funerals and Cremations with the Reverend Gary Moore officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-3 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
