Maggie Valley-Christopher "Bubba" Eugene Carver, 54 went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 10, 2021, at Mission Hospital. Bubba was born in Haywood County on October 3, 1967, to Hugh Carver and the late Clara Rich Carver. Bubba enjoyed fishing, bear hunting, spending time outdoors, going to Cades Cove, riding on the parkway and spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid football fan, pulling for the Tuscola Mountaineers and UT. Bubba was a 37-year veteran of the Maggie Valley Fire and Rescue, serving as Chief for over 15 years. Bubba was instrumental in the progression of the fire department from a small volunteer fire department to a full-time paid, full service fire department with 24-hour coverage. He was instrumental in lowering the insurance ratings that he felt was important to the community and especially the older fixed income taxpayer. Bubba was a mentor to many young firemen. In so much that, he saw their potential even if they didn't recognize it themselves. There is no way to replace the fine leadership Bubba provided to so many for so long. He Will Be Missed!
In addition to his father, Bubba is survived by his brothers, Tim Carver (Rita) and Victor Carver (Chrystal); significant other, Tempie Brown; daughters, Courtney Brown and Brittany Flannery; grandchildren, Hailie, Jodie, Mason and Harper.
A Memorial Service celebrating Bubba's life will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 15, at Calvary Road Baptist Church with the Reverend Erma Bond, the Reverend Jerry Nelson, the Reverend Tim McConnell, and the Reverend David Reeves officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm prior to the service at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Maggie Valley Fire and Rescue at 2925 Soco Road, Maggie Valley, NC 28751. Make checks for Bubba Carver Fireman Scholarship Fund.
The family would like to offer a special word of thanks to all that have shown their love and support during this difficult time.
