Claude Herman Owen

Claude Herman Owen, age 74, of Clyde, NC passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2024. Claude was born in Haywood County, NC on May 11, 1950 to the late Herman and Effie Sutton Owen.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Dianne Owen; and brother, Howard Owen.

Claude retired from Lea Industries following 35 years of service. He had and loved his special pets, Henry and Birdie. He had two special horses throughout his life that he loved, a Palomino named, Joe and a Blue Roan named, Smoky. He enjoyed riding horses in his younger years with his friends.

Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Angie Rhinehart (James); granddaughters, Heather Massey and Alecia Rhinehart; grandsons, Chris Massey and Lukas Rhinehart; great-granddaughters, Bella, Mattie, Jamie, Kensley and Sullivan; brother-in-law, Bill Frady; niece, Lisa Frady; and special friends, Frank, Ralph, Hal, Kelly, Ronnie, David, Jeff, Tony, James P., and Mark.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, October 24, 2024 in the Chapel of Garrett Funeral Home with the Reverend Daryl Hannah officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Burial will follow services at Garrett Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Serving as pallbearers will be, James and Lukas Rhinehart, Chris Massey, John Mull, Avery Messer, Shane Lundy; and honorary pallbearer will be Ned Caldwell.
