
Captain Clyde Medford Beasley, 96, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 7, 2025. Clyde was born in Haywood County on May 8, 1929, to the late Shuford and Ann Rathbone Beasley. He served honorably in the US Army from 1945 until 1947. Clyde was a minister with the Salvation Army for over 25 years. He was a certified alcohol and drug rehabilitation counselor with the Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center “ARC”. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, Jackie for 25 years across the US, Canada and Mexico. Clyde would spend his winters in Florida and his summers in the Carolinas.
Clyde was the loving father of three daughters, Elizabeth, Wilma and Judi and was a very devoted husband of his bride, Jackie.
In addition to his parents, Clyde was preceded in death by his daughter, Judi Church; sister, Ada Harden; and brothers, Albert, Earl and Lloyd Beasley.
Clyde is survived by his loving wife, Jackie Handley Beasley; daughters, Elizabeth Davis, Wilma Ferguson (Carl); grandchildren, Klon Kitchen (Tracy), Autumn Brantley and Joshua Church (Brandy); eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Thomas Beasley (Sandra), Charles Beasley (Brenda); and sister, Linda Ewart.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, July 10, in the chapel of Garrett Funerals and Cremations with the Reverend Ronald Greene officiating. Entombment will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park Mausoleum. Serving as pallbearers, Klon Kitchen, Joshua Church, Cody Greene, Keith Beasley, Nick Jenkins and Michael Beasley. Serving as honorary pallbearers, Tiffany Beasley and Autumn Brantley. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
