Colbert Ray Greer

Colbert Ray Greer, 84, of Fairview, NC passed away June 27, 2015 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born in Hammond, IN on May 17, 1931 to the late Lawrence and Carrie Mae Greer. He worked at Inland Steel Company in East Chicago, IN for 38 years as a Shearing Expeditor. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by, a sister, Barbara Castile. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Ruth Greer; son, Tim Greer and his wife Debbie; grandchildren, Aaron Greer and his wife Bekah and Jordan Greer; two nieces, Dawn Keller and Venice Richards; and one nephew, Troy Castile. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, June 30, 2015 in the Chapel of Garrett Funeral Home with Pastor Daniel Baker and Bishop Alvin Baker. The family will receive friends on Tuesday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Garrett Hillcrest Memorial Park.
