Connie G. Drews Iding

Maggie Valley-Connie G. Iding died on Sunday, May 31, 2015, at Maggie Valley Nursing and Rehab. Connie was born in Chicago, IL on June 24, 1925, to the late Gretta Gustafson Drews. Connie was a 30 year resident of Maggie Valley and was active in volunteering within her community. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, Waynesville Elks #1769, and the Maggie Valley Chamber of Commerce. Connie enjoyed traveling and spending time with her friends. She had her favorite seat at J. Arthurs and enjoyed many evenings there. In addition to her mother, Connie was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Iding and daughter, Sharon Van Drunen. Connie is survived by her son, Les Michalson; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and her special friend, Mary Leatherwood. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, June 8, at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park, with the Reverend Terry Rowland officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the ELKS National Foundation at PO Box 825, Waynesville, NC 28786.
