

Butch was born in Waynesville to the late Edgar and Edna Troutman Boring on April 27, 1947. He married his wife Patsy Inman Boring on December 2, 1967. In his early years he worked at the Enka Plant. From there he worked at the Haywood County Sheriff's Office and then retired after 27 years as Clyde's Police Chief. He also served in the National Guard.
He was a member of Balsam Missionary Baptist Church where he served his Lord and Savior. He loved the lord and wanted everyone to know Him in the free pardon of sin. He loved singing in the choir, doing special songs, and teaching Sunday School. In his younger years he loved roller skating with his girls and many more that he adopted along the way. In his later years he loved to take his wife on motorcycle rides. He loved trout fishing and shooting guns with his children and grandchildren.
Butch is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Patsy Inman Boring; two daughters, Paula Beck (Steve) and Sherry Fox (Joey); a sister, Diane Tate (Jerry); three grandchildren, Tyler Beck (Meagan) Sarah Surrett (Randy) and Sean Fox; five great-grandchildren, Brayden, Auburn, Ellie, Tanner and Cash; and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 3, 2021, at Balsam Missionary Baptist Church with the Reverend Greg Cullen officiating. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery.
Memorials can be made to Balsam Missionary Baptist Church or Haywood Hospice.
The family would like to say a special thanks to all the doctors and nurses that gave such great care to Butch, especially Elizabeth Carmichael, Dr. Peterson, the nurses of Hospice.
