Edith Grant McKinney

Edith Grant McKinney, age 91, of Canton, NC passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2025. Edith was born in Haywood County, NC, on December 24, 1933, to the late Albert and Ollie Mashburn Grant.

Edith loved her dogs and enjoyed reading, collecting snowmen, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. She enjoyed the "old time" gospel singing. Edith retired from the Lynchburg Training School after 45 years of faithful service.

In addition to her parents, Edith was preceded in death by her husband Jack McKinney; brother, Manuel Grant; and sisters, Ruth Barnes, Nellie Jenkins and Evelyn Grant.

Edith is survived by her daughters, Patricia Worley (Ricky Creasman) and Sheila Rogers (Gary); son Jack McKinney (Carla); sister, Eva Edwards; sister-in-law, Eleen Grant; nine grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, November 3, in the chapel of Garrett Funerals and Cremations with the Reverend Keith Beck officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
