Edwin Spomer

1920 - 2014

Edwin Spomer, 93, of Linden, MI passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on May 27, 2014 at Med West Haywood Hospital. He was born in Lincoln, NE on September 9, 1920 to the late Lucas and Katherine Spomer. He served in the United States Army during WWII stationed in Italy. During Edwin’s career, he was the owner and operator of the John Cooley Construction Company in Ferndale, MI until his retirement from the business.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.

Survivors include children, Maxine Lenk, Edwin R. Spomer, Claudia Cascio, and Mark Spomer; sister, Doris Wagner; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.

There will be a memorial service and graveside inurnment at Glen Eden Lutheran Cemetery, Livonia, MI at 3 PM Monday, June 2, 2014.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Judes Children’s hospital or charity of your choice.
