

Estelle Bessie Timbes, 101, of Clyde, North Carolina passed away on January 3, 2021. Born on February 20, 1919 in Granville County, NC to her late Father Luther Matthews and Mother Bessie Medlin Matthews. Estelle enjoyed attending church and fellowshipping with her friends. Estelle also enjoyed running her tourist home here in Waynesville, Hilltop Tourist Home for 36 years, also enjoyed being a Registered Nurse in her early years, and working for Welco. Estelle was a faithful member of Hazelwood Baptist Church, of Haywood county for many years.
In addition to her parents, Estelle is preceded in death by first husband Theodore Bradford Stackpole, and second husband Gilliam F. Timbes. Estelle was the last living sibling of 13 brothers and sisters; Sons Robert lee Stackpole, and Billy Frank Stackpole; Stepson Richard B. Stackpole; Granddaughter Cassandra Stackpole.
Estelle is survived by Son Charles Edward Stackpole of Clyde; stepdaughter Norma Evans of Leverett, MA; and 5 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at 3pm at Garrett Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Lolley and Pastor Charles Dean officiating, and family Pastor Theodore Bradford Stackpole. Visitation will be two hours prior at 1pm at Garrett Funeral Home. Burial will follow funeral service at Garrett Hillcrest Cemetery.
