Faye Rathbone McElroy

Clyde-Faye R. McElroy, 89, of the Fines Creek Community, passed Wednesday, January 03, 2018. She born in Haywood County, on March 17, 1928, and was the daughter of the late Oscar and Florence Price Rathbone. Faye was a member of the Shelton Laurel Salvation Army. Faye was preceded in death by her husband Bill McElroy, one grandchild, four brothers, and two sisters. Faye is survived by two sons, Ray McElroy (Gail), of Clyde, and Ed McElroy (Sue), of Zebulon, NC; three grandchildren, Stephanie Swanger (Clint), Ethan McElroy (Haley), and Jonathan McElroy (Brandy); and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 5, in the chapel of Garrett Funerals and Cremations with the Reverend Billy Ferguson and Major Kenny Clewis officiating. Burial will follow at Lower Fines Creek UMC Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
