Frances Irene Powell Fisher

Frances Irene Powell Fisher passed on April 7, 2026, at the age of 96. Frances was born in Jackson County, NC, on March 11, 1930, to the late Walter and Gathie Mathis Powell. She enjoyed working in her flowers, going to yard sales and Goodwill, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her grandsons, Joseph Trammell and Kevin Arrington; granddaughter, Megan Ann Rathbone; and all of her brothers.

Frances is survived by her daughters, Sheila Brown, Janie Fowler (Frank) an Terena Inman (Melvin); grandchildren, Geramie, Crystal,

Thomas and Keith; eleven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, April 13, in the chapel of Garrett Funerals and Cremations with the Reverend Jerry Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
