Francis Laxton Webb

Francis Laxton Webb age 92, entered Heaven on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. He was born on June 21, 1934, in Madison County, NC, to the late Monroe and Bertha Plemmons Webb.

Francis is survived by his wife, Janet Threlkeld Webb and two sons, Oren Webb (Mary) of Spartanburg, SC and David Webb (Cindy) of Columbus, NC; eight grandchildren, Jacob Webb, Nicholas Webb, Liam Webb, Kristen Ray (David), Lucas Webb (Mikaela), Isaac Webb (Sarah), Anna Laura Webb and Jessica Webb and four great-grandchildren, Stella Ray, Jace, Edison and Winston Webb.

Francis was a great man of faith, who shared is faith with innumerable people over the years. He was a great prayer warrior who prayed for everyone that asked him. He also led church music for over 40 years and was an ordained deacon.

Francis honorably served his country in the US Army. He worked much of his life as a TV repairman in his brother’s shop, Leon’s Radio and TV. After retiring from the TV shop, he returned to working for Haywood County Recycling until the age of 75. As a hobby he repaired antique clocks and worked in his garden.

In November of 2023, Francis and Janet moved into the home of their son in Columbus, NC, where they both resided until his passing. He was a good husband and father who loved his wife and children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren very deeply. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, October 11, in the chapel of Garrett Funerals and Cremations with the Reverend Dewayne Rathbone and the Reverend Darrell Webb officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery The family will receive family and friends from 1:00-3:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
