The day I met Fred and Bev was a special day. I felt as if I had known them all my life. They always made me feel welcomed in their home in Niceville. I have very fond memories of attending their meditation and playing board games with them. I was always at awe at Fred's latest achievement. He was a remarkably gifted individual daunted by nothing. Whether it was building a house by himself, building a canoe, doing beautiful moving wood sculptures, setting marble tile in his living room, or entertaining children with balloon figures, he tackled everything with intelligence, enthusiasm , patience and skill. He was one in a million. I am honored to have known him. My thoughts are with Bev and his children and grandchildren as they deal with this difficult transition.

Beverly and all, so sorry to hear of Fred’s passing. I have so many great memories when I was just a kid, but Fred took the time to take me and my brother and sister up to the cottage on Runyon lake. First time I skied, first time I dove, I learned to swim, and got my first taste of kayaking in the old folboat. What a great guy and character model. He certainly made a difference in my life.
