

Waynesville-Glenn A. Phillips, 85, died on Sunday, March 5, 2017. Glenn was born in Haywood County on September 8, 1931, to the late James and Margaret Phillips. Glenn was a rock mason by trade and enjoyed hunting, fishing, digging ramps, working in his garden, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by a sister, Sarah Phillips; his brothers, Claude, Rowe, and Thomas Phillips; and a granddaughter, Rachel Phillips. Glenn is survived by his wife, Mary R. Phillips; his son Terry (Sue); his daughters, Nancy Wilkins (Dale), Glenda Phillips, and Wilma Phillips; his grandchildren, Mary, Jennifer, Andy, Michelle, Brandon, Sarah, and Adam; and his great-grandchildren, Madisyn, Jace, Emma, Isaac, Mason, Temperance, Riley, and Austin. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 9, in the chapel of Garrett Funerals and Cremations with the Reverend Lloyd Allen and the Reverend Ricky Mason officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Wednesday, March 8, at Garrett Funerals and Cremations.
