

“Pop” Waynesville-Grady Carver, Sr., age 76, passed away on July 13, 2014, at Mission Hospitals-Memorial Campus. Grady was born in Haywood County on September 15, 1937, to the late Riley Carver and Bonnie James Parks. He enjoyed gardening, dancing, and watching wrestling. Most of all Grady loved spending time with family and friends. In addition to his parents Grady was preceded in death by his loving wife, Shirley Carver. Grady is survived by his children, David (Effie), Thomasine (Curtis), June Bug (Brenda), John, Darlene, and Judith Ann Carver; 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; one brother, Jerry Carver (Helen); and three sisters, Geraldine James, Louise James (Ray), and Frankie Sheppard. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, in the chapel of Garrett Funerals and Cremations with the Reverend Jerry Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and at other times at Pop’s residence.
