Henrietta "Penny" McDonald, age 78, formerly of Waynesville, NC passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at Rutherford Regional Medical Center. Penny was born in Haywood County on May 23, 1945, to the late Charles Ralph and Sarah Mae Rathbone Sisk. She enjoyed her chewing tobacco, crossword puzzles, putting puzzles together and watching western movies. Most of all she loved being with her family.
In addition to her parents, Penny was preceded in death by her sons, Charles Ralph Johnson, Jr. and William Roscoe Johnson Jr.; brothers, Billy Rathbone and Dowel Rathbone; and a sister, Jean Sharpe.
Penny is survived by her husband, Joe Patterson McDonald; daughters, Peggy Johnson and Trish Mathis (Carroll); granddaughters, Sarah Jane Baxter, Teresa Ann Green and Amanda Nicole Sisk; lots of great-grandchildren; a sister Mary Charles Sisk Snyder; and a sister-in-law, Milly Rathbone.
