Hilda was a substitute teacher for Haywood County Schools for 37 years. Hilda was the longest living member of Spring Hill Baptist Church where she spent many years teaching Bible School and first and second grade Sunday School and keeping the nursery. Hilda's priority was to always tell everyone about Jesus.
In addition to her mother, Hilda was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Mark Hollingsworth; great-granddaughter, Ellie Lucille Mode; sister, Doris Chambers; and brother, Carroll Haney.
Hilda is survived by her daughter, Martha Hollingsworth Mills (Clyde); son, Tim Hollingsworth (Heather); granddaughter, Sheila Mills Mode (Ryan); great-grandson, Eli; brothers, Gerald Haney (Trixie) and Harry Haney (Cheryl); and nieces and nephews.
