

Jananne Adele Nelson, 97, passed on to her Lord and Savior March 11, 2024, at Hendersonville NC. Jananne was a lifelong disciple of Jesus Christ who exhibited great faith. She is now at peace and with her husband, William Arnum Nelson, who passed away in 2014. Her remains will be buried with him at Forest Lawn Cemetery in a Memorial Service to be scheduled at a future date.
Jananne was born in Elgin, Illinois to Charles Jackson Moss and Leslye Bell Stayner. She enjoyed attending the Kentucky Derby and visiting the Blue Ridge mountains as a girl. She attended the University of Michigan where she met William (Bill). They were married May 31, 1947, at Des Moines Iowa, and settled in Jackson, Michigan.
Jananne acquired her sales and brokers licenses and was active in their businesses in real estate and home building. She was proficient in knitting and loved to walk and listen to classical music. Bill and Jan retired to Ft Myers, FL and Kenmure in Flat Rock, NC enjoying tennis and the outdoors. Most recently she resided at the Bridge, then at the Life Care Center at Lake Pointe Landing.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Bridge, Life Care and the Hospice nurses for their kindness and support for our mother.
Jananne raised 4 children who survive her and honor her lifelong service: David (Carolyn) Nelson of Salt Lake City, Christine (Clark) Wallace of Cincinnati, Nancy Bargar of Hendersonville, and Robert (Dawn) Nelson of Atlanta. Her descendants also include the many grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved and cared for.
