Janice Clark passed away peacefully with her husband of 46 years at her side at the age of 72 on January 26th, 2022 in the care of the skilled nursing staff at Solace Center. Janice was born on October 4th, 1949 and suffered an anoxic brain injury during childbirth that would lead to challenges throughout her life including a physical handicap, cerebral palsy, and epilepsy. Despite these challenges, Janice would go on to lead a full life raising two children, holding down a variety of jobs, and enjoying many hobbies.
Janice met her challenges head on and worked hard to raise her family in a kind and open manner. She shared her love of animals and art with her children and everyone around her. She did not drive due to her disabilities and walked everywhere in their small town of Lynbrook NY. She had an easy beautiful smile and everyone in town knew her. When the stresses of the fast-paced life of NY became too much, Janice moved to North Carolina to be closer to her parents and seek treatment for developing mental challenges. Her husband Kenneth moved down to Waynesville and joined her after he retired.
In her later years she was employed by HVO of Waynesville NC as a production assistant. Janice has two daughters with her husband Kenneth Clark, a dry goods trucker in the NY Metropolitan area. Stephanie her eldest, is an art teacher, and Diana her youngest is a registered nurse, both residing in NY. Diana is married to Michael Almeida who works as a quality control supervisor for an automotive company.
Janice is preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Virginia Christiansen whom she adored. She is survived by her husband, two daughters, and sister Donna, her three children and their children.
