Jeffrey Allen Green

Jeffrey Allen Green, age 72 of Waynesville, NC passed away February 10 2026. He was born on March 17, 1953 in Haywood County to the late Lewis Nathaniel Green “Sug” and the late Mariam Allen Green.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Lewis Van Green.

Jeff was an athlete at Tuscola High School getting multiple trophies for track and football. Jeff began in his early childhood at his parents' grocery store "The Waynewood". He then went on to manage the family's Lakeview Motel at Lake Junaluska for 30 years until his retirement. Jeff joined the Moose Lodge Association local chapter #1733 in 1987. He cherished his work, members and giving back to the community and most recently served as the administrator. He was an honorable member and received countless awards including his invitation to receive their highest award, The Pilgrim's Degree.

Jeff was the friendliest face in the room, outgoing, kind, constantly making jokes and laughing with his friends. Friends and family meant everything to him.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Teresa Green; son, Jeffery Brian Shuler and wife, Mikaela; brother, Ronald "Ronnie" Green and wife, Charlene; sister, Deborah "Debbie" Green; step daughters, Angela Rushton and Kristy Rivers; four step grandchildren, Michael Selby, Jessie Johnson, Austin Lee, and Haley Campbell; nephews, Brandon Green and wife, Nicole, Shawn Allen and Nathaniel "Nathan" Green and wife, Tasha; and a niece, Ashley Matos and husband, Tony; great nephew, Jack Green; and great nieces, Madysun Green, Sadie and Maci Blofield.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 from 12 to 2 pm with service to follow at 2 pm at Garrett Funeral Home in Waynesville.

Burial will be held at Garrett Hillcrest Memorial Park.

A celebration of life will take place at the Moose Lodge at a later date.
