Joseph Kohl

Joseph Kohl, 93, passed away on September 18, 2026. Joseph was born and spent most of his life in Chicago before moving to Florida. He was always willing to help regardless of the challenge. He could fix or build anything and he did it with confidence. He had an uncanny way of appearing at the very moment neighbors and friends needed him the most. More importantly, he had a tool for everything.

Joseph was incredibly talented, humble, and kind, especially to the many pets, birds, and squirrels. Joe never sat still--there was always a project in motion or something to fix. He built and flew multiple planes--he was a long standing EAA member, introducing others to the Young Eagles Program and helping maintain the field in FL. Joe also built numerous model boats and planes with his nephews, and created many DIY projects and crafts for his wife and daughter.

He left his family and friends with many "words of wisdom" and memories that will never be forgotten--they will be repeated for years to come.

He finally joined his beloved wife Arlene after missing her for six years. He leaves behind his beloved daughter and son-in-law, Jori and Jack Albright, and his "other" children Gerald Stanko (Joanne), Thomas Stanko (Shelly), Billy Stanko (Libby), and Andrew Stanko. He also leaves behind his brother-in-law Charles Buhlinger and many nieces and nephews. Joseph was preceded in death his parents Rudolph and Mary Kohl, his siblings, and sister-in-laws Dolores Stanko (Andrew), Joanne Uchison (Warner), Nancy Horras (John), and Marie McInerney (John).
