Joseph "Joe" William Smith

Joseph "Joe" William Smith, age 83, of Clyde, NC passed away on Monday, February 21, 2022. Joe was born July 21, 1938 to the late Leonard and Lucy Jane Smith.

Joe retired from Dayco. He also owned his own floor covering business. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was also a member and Deacon of Dellwood Baptist Church that he truly loved.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Carla Ann Smith and son-in-law, Tommy Swink; brothers, Edwin, Ben, and Robert Smith; sisters, Dorothy Ford, Patsy Conard and Mary Cagle; and several nieces and nephews.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 61 years, Wilma Brown Smith; daughter, Nila Swink; son, Randy (Rhonda) Smith; grandson, Adam (Kim) Swink; his two best little buddies, Johnathan and Grace; and brother, John Smith.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, February 24, 2022 at Garrett Funeral Home with the Reverend Dr. Bobby Rogers, Reverend Shawn Porter and Reverend Barry Willett officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday prior to the service from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home.

Burial will follow service at Garrett Hillcrest Memorial Park.
