Joyce Gilreath Constante

Greenville-Joyce Gilreath Constante, 93, of Waynesville, passed away at home on Saturday, February 19, 2022. Joyce was born on June 7, 1928, in Piedmont, SC to the late Elzie L. and Hazel Mackey Gilreath. She enjoyed reading and spending time with family. She loved raising her own children as well and the many babies she cared for in her 25 years of childcare. Joyce and her late husband, Bob, were known for their wonderful dancing skills, especially the Jitterbug. Now they are dancing together once again.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Robert “Bob” Constante, Sr. and their son, Robert “Bobby” Constante, Jr.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Yvonne Rhodes (Bill); sons, Shane Constante (Louetta) and John Constante (Wanda); 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 26, in the chapel of Garrett Funerals and Cremations with the Reverend Matthew Pressley officiating. Entombment will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm prior to the services at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Shane Constante, John Constante, Chris Constante, Heidi Constante, Kaitlyn Constante, Robbie Constante, Bill Rhodes, and Kirk Wong.

Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
