Waynesville-Kenneth F. Hobbie, 89, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 4, 2015, at Haywood Lodge and Retirement. Kenneth was born in Queens, NY, on November 11, 1926, to the late Francis and Mildred Patton Hobbie. Kenneth was a past president of the Home Builders Association, Chamber of Commerce and Kiwanis in Denver, CO. He was an avid tennis player and on the ski patrol in Colorado for many years. Kenneth loved dogs and worked diligently with animal welfare associations. In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by a sister, Ethel Smith. Kenneth is survived by his wife of 45 years, Marian Hobbie; two daughters, Laurie Jean May (Greg) and Robyn Tompkins; a son Charles Burnside (Pam); grandchildren, Autumn Bailey (Omar) and Josh Burnside; and great-grandchildren, Amaya and Nayla Bailey.
