Kenneth R. McMullen, age 86, of Clyde, North Carolina, passed away on September 15, 2025. Born in Logan, Ohio, on September 3, 1939, Ken was the beloved son of the late Ray and Jennie Laverty McMullen.
A dedicated and hardworking man, Ken proudly served in the United States Army before beginning a career at Lea Industries, from which he eventually retired. His commitment to service extended beyond both his military and professional life. Ken also gave generously of his time to his community, serving with distinction with the Haywood Regional Medical Center Auxiliary and Haywood County Meals on Wheels. His leadership and dedication to helping others left a lasting impact and are fondly remembered by all who served alongside him.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Christa Herwig McMullen; sister, Carolyn Frasure; his children, Michael (Michelle) McMullen and Michele McMullen; and his cherished grandchildren, Hayley Kesecker, Lukas (Lauren) McMullen, Hayden McMullen, and Lynzee McMullen; great granddaughter, Layla Kate McMullen and his beloved dog, Amber. Ken’s legacy of love, kindness, and service lives on through each of them.
A gathering of friends and family to celebrate and honor Ken’s life will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Chapel of Garrett Funeral Home followed by military honors at Garrett Hillcrest Memorial Park.
