Leroy Rich, 90 of Clyde passed away on Monday, August 24, 2026, at Autumn Care of Waynesville. Leroy was born on October 15, 1935, in Haywood County to the late Houston and Carrie Lanning Rich.
Leroy enjoyed helping on the farm, his horses, his donkey, mowing and weed eating his grass. Most of all, Leroy loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He retired from the Haywood County Research Center after over 40 years of faithful service.
In addition to his parents, Leroy was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Messer Rich; sons, Tony, Roy Lee and Roger Rich; brothers and sisters.
Leroy is survived by his daughter, Eyvonne Rich (Tommy); son, Kenny Messer (Karen); grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, August 30, in the chapel of Garrett Funerals and Cremations. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
