Lillian Boughman Sheets

Lillian Boughman Sheets, of Lenoir, North Carolina, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.

Born on August 15th, 1948, Lillian was the daughter of the late Garland Boughman and Ruth Nelson Boughman. She was a talented seamstress, an avid Bingo player, and someone who found comfort in the simple pleasures of life. A true homebody, she enjoyed quiet days spent at home surrounded by the love of her boys.

In addition to her parents, Lillian was preceded in death by her cherished son, Matthew “Donny” Sheets; her beloved husband, Robert “Jack” Sheets; her brothers, Don Boughman, Dan Boughman, and David Boughman; and her sisters, Louise Greer, Lois Parrish, and Loy Hendrix.

She is survived by her sons, Michael Sheets and wife, Karen, and Eric Sheets and wife, Megan; her grandsons, Devan Gentry and wife, Peyton, and Hunter Gentry and fiancée, Ashlyn, and Matthew “DJ” Sheets Jr.; her great-grandson, Waylon Gentry; her sister, Loretta Storie; extended family members, and friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Lillian will be remembered for her love of family, her stubborn spirit, and the countless memories she created with those she loved.

In keeping with Lillian’s wishes, no formal services will be held.

Those wishing to honor Lillian’s life are invited to make a memorial donation to Shriners Children’s, 950 W. Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605. Shriners Children’s held a special place in Lillian’s heart because of the compassionate care they provided to her son, Eric. Their care gave him the opportunity to walk, a gift for which she remained forever grateful.
