Linda Ann Mitchell

Linda Mitchell passed away on February 5, 2025, at Mission Hospital. She was born in Haywood County on January 16, 1960, to the late Ned and Josephine Ewart Caldwell. Linda loved working in her flowers and helping others. She ran family care homes for years and after retirement fostered 21 children over a few years. Linda will always be remembered for caring for others.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Caldwell; and nephew, Shane Messer.

Linda is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Larry Mitchell; son, Al Mitchell (Madi); daughters, Emily Mitchell and Alissa Mitchell; grandchildren, Graham, Juliette, and Abraham; brothers, Ned Caldwell Jr. (Donna), Dale Caldwell (Glenda); sister, Joann Mathis (Ron); and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, February 10, in the chapel of Garrett Funerals and Cremations. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
