Madeline Gail Mehaffey

Madeline Gail Mehaffey, age 78, of Waynesville, NC passed away on Monday, October 17, 2022. Gail was born in Haywood County, NC on February 3, 1944, to the late Rev. L. Jay and Maude Queen Rogers. She enjoyed reading, cooking, attending church and music. Gail was a member of Ratcliffe Cove Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Gail was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Mehaffey; brother, Steve Rogers, USMC (R); stepson, Bob Mehaffey (Sandi) and stepson-in-law, Wayne Caylor.

Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Linda Rogers Parker (Blaine); brother, Mark Bryan Rogers (Pam); stepdaughters, Karen Tatham (Bergin), Vickie Caylor; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four nephews; one niece; and lifetime friend, Ramona Pressley.

Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, October 21, 2022, at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park with the Reverend Tracy Smith officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Friday from 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm at Garrett Funeral Home.

Burial will be held at Garrett Hillcrest Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ratcliffe Cove Baptist Church Building Fund at PO Box 1196, Waynesville, NC 28786.
