Bethel – Mary Elizabeth Potts Goodson, age 96 passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Silverbluff Nursing Home. She was born in Jackson County, was the daughter of the late Roy and Florence Potts. She was preceded in death by her husband Clayborn N. Goodson, who died in 1988 and brothers, John, Charles and two sisters Daphne and Edith Potts. She is survived by two sons, David Goodson and wife, Teresa, of Bethel, Billy A. Goodson and wife, Mary of the Cove Creek Community; two grandchildren, Luchina Rice and her husband, Seth of Virginia, William Goodson of Utah Mountain Road; one great grandchild, Lily Rice of Virginia; one sister, Louise Pressley of Tennessee, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 29, 2017 at 1 PM at Garrett Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Garrett Funeral Home.
