Michael Bruce Lancaster passed away on October 28, 2026, at the age of 68.
Michael was born Haywood County, NC on May 16, 1958, to the late Melvin and Martha Crafton Lancaster.
Michael worked at Wellco Shoes and was also a paramedic with Haywood County Rescue Squad and a firefighter with the Waynesville Fire Department.
Michael is survived by his brothers, Matthew (Jennifer) Lancaster of Newton, NC and Mark (Crystal) Lancaster of Waynesville, NC; and nieces and nephews, Grace Carol Lancaster, William Jesse Lancaster, Benjamin Alan Lancaster and Katherine Elizabeth Lancaster.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, November 4, in the chapel of Garrett Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-3 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Waynesville Firefighters Association at Mountain Credit Union, PO Box 390, Waynesville, NC 28786.
