Myra Norton Holland

Myra Carolyn (Norton) Holland, 73, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Born in Macon County, Myra was the daughter of the late Charles Norton and Grace Yonce Tallent. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her Ex-Husband, Gerald Holland and sister, Marcia Clanton.

Myra resided in Haywood County for the past 45 years where she worked 30 plus years as a med/surg registered nurse before retiring. She served on several medical mission trips all over the world with the Baptist on Mission during her medical career.

She also loved to crochet and knit, and in her younger years she enjoyed hiking with her dear friends Sue and Carol.

She was a dedicated member of Dellwood Baptist Church where she served in several areas of ministry in service to her Savior.

She is survived by her children, April Holland Ward (David), Jeremy Holland (Tracey), both of Waynesville, NC. Her grandchildren, Josey Ward (Kyrstin) of Clyde, NC, Angel Ward, Ashley Holland , Sara Holland and Coy Austin all of Waynesville, NC. Sister, Pat Tippett (Eddie), brother, Ronnie Norton (Cytrina) both of Franklin, NC and brother Tim Tallent (Stacy) of Atlanta, Ga. Several beloved nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, November 24, at Dellwood Baptist Church with the Reverend Dr. Bobby Rogers, Reverend Shawn Porter and Reverend Brandon Breedlove officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Windy Gap Baptist Church Cemetery in Franklin.
