Nancy Ellen Boguski

Nancy Ellen (Deaner) Boguski, longtime Vero Beach resident, age 86, passed away peacefully on January 21st, 2024, in Waynesville, North Carolina, of natural causes.

Born in Washington, D.C., and raised in Arlington, Virginia, beloved daughter of George and Alma Deaner, Nancy was predeceased by longtime partner Edwin Bonkowski, husband Francis Boguski, daughter Mary Beth Boguski, son-in-law Fred Wood, sister-in-law Mari Deaner, and cousin Dorcus Channell.

Nancy is survived by brother George Deaner, former husband Gary Antonides (Jan), children Steven (Kathryn), Colleen, and Scott (Diane) Antonides, Paula Wood, Peter (Nancy) and Stephen (Jean) Boguski; grandchildren Lindsey Tropf (Ryan), Sarah Slimak (Sasson), Kaitlin Antonides (Travis), Rebecca Slimak (Darien), Megan (Noah) and Jennifer (Emmanuel) Smith, Christina and Michael Antonides, Joy, Julie, Noah, and Hannah Boguski; great-grandchildren Rowen, Jermaine, and Zander; and cousin Judith Garrett. She is also survived by Ed’s children Penny Graham, Nicki Hammond, and Lee-Anne Caruso.

Nancy earned a master’s degree in psychology from George Mason University while raising three children in Herndon, Virginia, and began working in the field, eventually managing a mental health services facility. A move to Vero Beach, Florida, in 1980 prompted a career change to real estate. She returned to practicing psychology for some years before retiring. Frank and Nancy were among the first members of the Polish American Social Club of Vero Beach. She enjoyed traveling overseas with Ed and activities with their extended families for many years in upstate New York and Florida.

Nancy always followed her heart and head, and was a guiding light and loving strength to those in her family and among her friends. She was a generous caretaker and never lost her love for life, sense of humor, or the sparkle in her eye. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, laughing and playing cards or board games, about which she was mercilessly competitive.
