Nancy Barbara Wright Monteith

“Beloved Mother” Nancy Barbara Wright Monteith, 91, of Waynesville, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2017 at Autumn Care Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born September 7, 1925 in Haywood County to the late Wynter and Hazel Wright. Before becoming a mother, Barbara was employed by Dayco of Waynesville. She enjoyed her family, gardening, pets, and being outdoors. She was a longtime member of Hazelwood Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Harry Monteith; sister, Hazel Frances Wright; and brother, William Max Wright. Left to cherish her memory is a son, Curtis Monteith and his wife Kellie Angelo Monteith of Waynesville, NC; sister, Betty Wright Watkins and husband, Hays and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 24, 2017 from 1 to 2 pm at Garrett Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Monday, July 24, 2017 at Garrett Funeral Home. Burial will be held at Garrett Hillcrest Memorial Park following services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hazelwood Baptist Church, 265 Hazelwood Avenue, Waynesville, NC 28786.
