Pat Holland Holland Messer

Waynesville-Patricia Holland Messer, age 74 passed away suddenly on Thursday, June 8, 2017, at Memorial Mission Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Clell Holland and Blanche Holland Rogers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Dallas Holland Mathis, the aunt who raised her. Pat is survived by her husband of 56 wonderful years, Harold Dean Messer. She is also survived by a daughter, Patti Messer Tucker and husband Keith Tucker of Pleasant Garden, NC; a son, Kevin Charles Messer and wife Rhonda King Messer of Canton, NC; a brother, Charles Holland and his wife Barbara of Maggie Valley, NC; and four grandchildren, Andrew Tucker and wife Morgan Tucker of Pineville, NC, Emily Jenkins and husband Aaron Jenkins of Canton, Matthew Tucker of Durham, NC, and Sarah Stepp and husband Josh Stepp of Clyde, NC. Pat was a very loving daughter, wife, mother, and Mimi and enjoyed her time with family, church and friends. Pat always put others before herself and was willing to serve the Lord in any capacity. She was looking forward to seeing her first two great grandchildren due to arrive in July and August of this year. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, June 11, 2017, at Ninevah Baptist Church in Waynesville, NC with visitation from 1-3PM prior to the service at the church. Burial will be held at Garrett Hillcrest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Family Life Center Debt Reduction Fund at Ninevah Baptist Church, PO Box 38, Waynesville, NC 28786.
