Paul Dewayne Grooms

“Loving Brother, Uncle” Waynesville-Paul Dewayne Grooms, age 31 died on August 13, 2014, at Mission Hospital-Memorial Campus. Paul was born in Haywood County on April 28, 1983. He was the son of the late Roy and Olena Sherrill Grooms. Paul enjoyed video games and listening to music. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his Papaw Paul, Mamaw Barbara, and his birth father Darrell Brown. Paul is survived by caregivers: loving sister Shirley Ingle; niece, Marti Ingle; nephew, Bryan Ingle and his wife Rebecca; great-nephew, Zachary Ingle; as well as Heather, Cayton, and Caleb Ingle who loved their Great-Uncle; four brothers, Roger, David (Kathy), Kenneth (Vicki), and Michael Grooms; niece, Misty Grooms; nephews Travis and Nathan Grooms; and sister, Brandy Brown Cagle. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Garrett Funerals and Cremations with Rick Sanford officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to The Open Door at 32 Commerce Street, Waynesville, NC 28786.
