

Phyllis Morgan Jackson, 84, passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2025. Phyllis was born in Waynesville, NC on October 24, 1940, to the late Homer and Mazie Hendrix Morgan.
Phyllis graduated from Waynesville Township High School in 1958 and went on to work for Haywood Savings and Loan for 30 years. She served as a volunteer for Haywood County Meals on Wheels for 26 years. Her hobbies included cooking, sewing, doll restoration, painting, quilting, furniture upholstery, and reading. She often gifted friends and relatives with items she had made. The Haywood County Library was one of her favorite places to visit, and on occasion, the staff benefited from her baking! She loved her community and her neighbors and often the neighbors were invited to patio parties for Memorial Day and Fourth of July at her home.
In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband of more than 45 years, Paul Jackson; son Kevin Jackson; siblings, Estella Robinson, Jacqueline Morgan Ashlock, Grover Robinson, Ted Morgan, Ray Morgan, Peggy Morgan Archer, and Bill Morgan; and special sister-in-law, Barbara Morgan Stokes
Phyllis is survived by her remaining children, Sheila Crawford (Jim), Shelly Clement (Terry) and Beth Lewis (Hugh), six grandchildren: Jacki Best, Kayla Hoglen, Cale Crawford, Melinda Sutton, Kody Jackson and Lucas Jackson; seven great grandchildren, special relatives: Pam Haan and Andrea Haan, and her best friends: Kathy Smiley and Pat Slaughter.
