In Loving Memory of
Phyllis Sue Brown McClure
January 20, 1946 – August 2, 2026
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Phyllis Brown McClure, lovingly known as "Granny Red," on August 2, 2026, at the age of 80.
Phyllis was the devoted wife of William Michael McClure, the loving mother of John David Nichols and daughter-in-law Sandra Dee Nichols, and a caring stepmother to Michael McClure. She was a proud grandmother to Athena Jade Nichols, Cora Sherene Nichols, Ashley McClure, Aaron McClure, and Birch McClure, who were the joy of her life.
She is survived by her loving sister, Wilma Brown Smith, and many cherished nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Michael McClure; her parents, Boone Brown and Cora Carver Brown; and her siblings, Hilda Brown Morgan, Lucille Brown McCord, Reba Rhodarmer, Lloyd Brown, and Robert Hugh Brown.
Granny Red never met a stranger. She welcomed everyone with a warm smile and an open heart, always ready to help those in need. Her kindness, generosity, and compassion touched countless lives. To many, she was more than a friend—she was a trusted advisor, a source of comfort, and a guiding light.
Though our hearts are broken, we find peace in knowing she has been reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband. Her love, laughter, and gentle spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be forever missed, forever loved, and forever remembered.
Forever our Granny Red. Forever our angel.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held at a later date.
