Ray Grooms, 84, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2025. James was born in Haywood County on September 25, 1940, to the late James Ardell and Jennie Francis Grooms.
In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death his wife, Shirley Grooms; sister, Charlena Grooms Carver; brother, Ralph Grooms; and brother-in-law, Bill Garnes.
Rays was a member of the West Canton Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, college basketball, Braves baseball and NASCAR. Ray was in the Army National Guard.
Ray is survived by his son David Grooms (Karla); and daughter Donna Grooms; sister Audrey Grooms Garnes; grandchildren, Jackie , Jamie, Hannah, Ray, Andy and Zac; and great-grandchildren, Sadie and Dallas.
