

Regina Coleman Barnett, longtime resident of Waynesville, passed away on September 22, 2025. She was born on April 11, 1955, in Union Springs, Alabama to the late Shirley and Elmer Coleman.
Regina lived most of her life in Waynesville, where she touched the hearts of many with her warmth, hospitality, and unwavering love for family. She cherished time spent with her Waynesville family and her campground family, and she was happiest when hosting holiday gatherings for her grandkids, nieces, and nephews, who knew her as “Nanny.”
In addition to her parents, Regina was preceded in death by her sister, Sherry Teer and her nephew, Joshua Teer.
Regina is survived by her husband of 50 years, Lewis Barnett; daughter, April Ledford and husband, Dewayne and son, Tanner; son, Tony Barnett and daughter Cydnee; son, Chris Barnett; brother, Steve Coleman and sons Levi and John; sister, Pam Williams and husband Tony, and son Bailey (Payton); niece, Lindsay Haynes and husband Josh, daughters Ainsley, MacKenna, sons Cannon, Landon; niece, Kelsey Owen and husband Hunter, daughters Kamber and Caroline; niece, April Smith and husband Joel, sons Declan and Talon; nephew, Matt Teer; and niece and nephew, Amy Barnett and Michael Barnett
Regina’s generous spirit, nurturing heart, and love for family will be remembered by all who knew her.
The Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Friday, September 26, at Garrett Funeral Home and Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 27, at Garrett Funeral Home. The Funeral Services will be officiated by Rev. Kenny Banks and Rev. Ray Sharpe.
