Rita Gail Franklin

Rita Gail Carver Franklin, age 77, of Waynesville, NC passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2025. Rita was born in Haywood County on July 16, 1947, to the late Ralph and Pauline Parton Carver. She enjoyed cooking, crafting, helping others, but most of all, Rita loved spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Franklin; daughter, Teresa Fisher; brothers, Earl, Hugh, and Hayes Carver; and sister, Shirley Carver.

Rita is survived by her sons, Travis Fisher (Rhonda) and Terry Fisher; grandchildren, Taylor, Trevor and Allie Jo Fisher ; brother, Dean Carver; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, July 7, in the chapel of Garrett Funerals and Cremations with the Reverend Phillip Wyatt officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 - 2:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
