Robena Mehaffey Russell, age 97 passed away on August 14, 2026. She was born on June 5, 1929 to the late J. Frank and Mattie Rich Mehaffey.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jay Mark Russell; siblings, Willie Mehaffey, Lorena McKay, and Jim Mehaffey.
Left to cherish her memory is her son Lowell "Tyker" Russell; nieces and nephews, Mackie (Joanne) McKay, Carroll (Nancie) Mehaffey, Jane Stamey, Regina Mehaffey (Keith Calhoun), Steve Mehaffey, and Mike (Vickie) Mehaffey.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 from 1 to 2:30 pm with service to follow at Garrett Funeral Home.
Burial will be held at Garrett Hillcrest Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Maggie Valley Fire and Rescue.
