Robert Francis Davis

Robert “Bob” Francis Davis, age 92 of Waynesville passed away February 6, 2023. He was born in Haywood County, NC on September 23, 1930 to the late Joseph Francis and Pearl Snyder Davis.

In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Hale Davis; brothers, A.J., Thomas, Haskell and Ben Davis; and sisters, Mary Alice Novotny and Sarah Jane Mitchum.

Bob was a wonderful Dad and husband. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bob was an animal whisperer and loved his horses and his dog Holly. He was also a football and little league ball coach. Bob served his country honorably serving in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked at Pet Dairy for 34 years and was a Christmas Tree farmer. Bob was also a longtime member of Hazelwood Baptist Church.

Left to cherish his memory are his children Robert "Bobby" (Velda) Davis, Joe (Diana) Davis and Sherry (Tim) Smith; and grandchildren, Alex Davis (Sarah), Karmen (John II) Francoeur, Ethan (Nichole) Davis; great-granddaughters, Addie and Tenley Franklin, and Ada and Willa Davis; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Thursday, February 9, 2023 in the chapel of Garrett Funeral Home with the Reverend Tim Lolley officiating. Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 pm on Thursday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Military honors will be held at Garrett Hillcrest Memorial Park following services at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to either the Haywood County Animal Shelter or Hazelwood Baptist Church.
