

Waynesville, NC - Ruby Bryson McCall, age 97 went to her Heavenly home on Monday, August 20, 2018. She was born in Jackson County, NC on October 1, 1920 to the late Napoleon Nelson and Annie Plott Bryson.
Ruby was a lifetime member of Balsam Baptist Church. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother to her family. She enjoyed cooking and always wanted visitors to eat when coming to visit her at home. She was a very caring person and always thought of others before herself.
In addition to her parents, Ruby is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence McCall; brother, Leonard Bryson; sisters, Maude Bryson, Lillian James, Olive McClure, Virginia Lowe, Clara Shuler, and infant sister, Harriet Fay Bryson; and granddaughter, Amy Arrington Spotswood.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughters, Wilma Arrington and husband, Joe, Judy Messer, and Kathy Lewis and husband, Johnny; sister, Betty Fisher (Jack) and Norma Ashe (Ken); brother, Arnold Bryson (Connie); grandchildren, Austin Arrington, Robin Fisher (Derek), Kim Wike (Ed), Christal Giese (Sean), and Keisha Goodman (Josh); twelve great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter.
Funeral services for Ruby will be held at 3 pm on Friday, August 24, 2018 at Balsam Baptist Church with the Reverend Greg Cullen officiating.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 23, 2018 from 6 to 8 pm at Garrett Funeral Home.
Burial will be held at Balsam Baptist Church Cemetery
Serving as pallbearers will be Austin Arrington, Derek Fisher, Ed Wike, Lane Wike, Sean Giese, and Josh Goodman.

The family would like to thank the staff and residents at Skyland Care Center for the love shown to our mother and our family during the last year.
